Press Release

Coping with Growth, free seminar for growing businesses

5 November 2004 - Glasgow businesses are invited to attend a free seminar on Wednesday 10th November hosted at the Hilton Grosvenor Hotel, Glasgow, advising them on strategies for growth.

Speaking at the seminar will be Charles S. Burton, Director of Business Services at Tenon, leading advisers to owner managed and private businesses. He will be suggesting strategies to ensure the successful expansion of your company, helping business owners identify what growth stage they are at, and clarifying the added value a good accountant can add.

The most recent Tenon Forum survey showed that Scottish businesses are the most optimistic in the UK about their own business success.

An accountant with 30 years experience, including 24 years of running his own accountancy practice, Charles will explain the changing face of accountants and why they play an increasingly crucial role in the lifespan of a company.

Comments Burton: “Historically, accountants prepared accounts, VAT returns and maintained payroll. These days, much of this is done in-house and good accountants have taken on a much more advisory role, guiding businesses every step of the way from start-up to planning exit strategies. And with Scottish firms currently so optimistic about their businesses it is even more important to have strategies for growth in place.”

Registration starts at 9.30am on the 10th November, with coffee and Danish and the seminar starts at 10, finishing after lunch at 2pm and is free to members of the Daily Telegraph Business Club. Reserve your place and join as a free member of the business club by visiting http://www.telegraphbusinessclub.co.uk/.

Ends.
